Verified Human™ · For universities, departments, and K-12

Academic integrity that actually works.

AI detectors produce unreliable scores. Plagiarism checkers miss deliberate rewriting. Solus doesn't detect — it proves. Every .solus file carries a cryptographic certificate of exactly what was typed.

The problem

Existing tools leave you guessing.

AI detectors

Produce probability scores, not verdicts. False positives punish innocent students. False negatives let cheaters through. Courts and academic appeal boards reject them as evidence.

Plagiarism checkers

Compare text against databases. Students who paraphrase AI output or rewrite in their own words evade detection entirely. Turnitin doesn't see the process — only the product.

Honor code policies

Important, but unenforceable without evidence. When a student disputes a finding, you need more than a policy. You need proof.

The Solus approach

Cryptographic proof of process.

Keystroke-level recording

Every character typed in Solus is logged with a timestamp and signed. You see the full writing process — not just the final essay.

Transparent paste quarantine

Students can still paste quotes and citations. Pasted content is logged separately — not blocked, but clearly distinguished from typed content in the certificate.

Tamper-evident ECDSA-P256 certificates

Any post-submission modification — even a single character — invalidates the cryptographic signature. No ambiguity. No "I edited it before submitting."

Institutional differentiator

Supervised enrollment — the tier only institutions can offer

Solus verifies that a writer's typing pattern matches their enrolled baseline. Self-serve enrollment is anyone who signs up. Supervised enrollment binds the writing key to a named student on your institution's roster — a stronger identity claim you can only offer at the org level.

Self-serve tier

Anyone can enroll

A student signs up, writes ~3 sessions, and their typing baseline is sealed. Their submissions can earn Verified Human™. Perfect for independent students and pilots.

Badge reads: Verified Human

Supervised tier · institutional

Attested by your institution

A student's writing key is bound to a named person on your roster by the institution's attestation. Requires 3+ qualifying sessions completed under institutional context (e.g. proctored classroom time).

Badge reads: Verified Human at <Your Institution>

Why this matters: Self-serve enrollment defeats the "I typed my essay off a phone" attack (typing biometrics reveal it). It doesn't defeat the "I paid someone to type ALL my writing since day one" attack — the classic ghostwriter problem — because there's no institutional check binding the account to a real person. Supervised enrollment closes that gap. If your compliance posture, academic-integrity policy, or accreditation requires stronger identity claims than "the person who set up this account," this is the tier for you.

How institutional licensing works

From application to first verified submission in under a week.

1

Apply at apply.soluseditor.com

Tell us your institution, department size, and how you plan to use Solus. We respond within 48 hours.

2

Admin approves and configures the account

Your institutional admin gets a dashboard to manage departments, set paste policies, configure join codes, and add teacher accounts.

3

Teachers create classes

Each teacher creates a class and gets a unique join code. They set assignment parameters — paste policy, minimum keystroke count, submission deadline.

4

Students enroll with a class code

Students go to write.soluseditor.com in any browser, sign in with their school email, and enter the class join code. Nothing to install. They write their essays in Solus and submit directly through the browser.

5

Teachers verify and grade

Submissions appear in the teacher dashboard with verification status, keystroke counts, and paste events. Grade inline and export to CSV for your LMS.

Every submission carries a Verified Human™ certificate
The registered trademark for keystroke-verified human writing. Students receive it automatically — no extra steps for your institution, teachers, or students.
Admin features
